Implantation Symptoms – Do You Know Them?
Women who have had breast augmentation surgery can experience several implantation symptoms. In fact, a large majority of women with breast augmentation surgery will experience at least one or more of the following implantation symptoms at some point.
If you experience any of the following implantation symptoms, you should consult with your surgeon immediately. The most common implantation symptoms that women experience is discomfort during the first few days after the procedure.
Common symptoms include chest pain and tenderness or soreness of the upper chest area
Although you may experience some discomfort, you should take it easy to ensure that your doctor can perform a thorough exam and determine if you are experiencing any problems. Breast swelling is also one of the most common implantation symptoms.
You may experience some redness or swelling after your procedure. Some women report that the pain from their procedure may be relieved when they wear compression stockings. These types of breast creams help to reduce some of the discomforts.
If you are using such a cream, be sure to follow the instructions on the package carefully and do not apply more than the recommended dose. Your physician may also order blood tests to look for abnormalities.
For example, you may be ordered to complete an ultrasound scan to assess whether or not the implants are properly placed. In addition, a mammogram may be ordered to see how well the implants are functioning after a surgical procedure.
If there are problems detected, your physician may recommend a series of additional tests to determine if they are related to your surgery
Implantation bleeding may also be present. If your breasts experience bleeding after the procedure, this is called pre-implantation bleeding. This may be caused by an issue with your saline solution or by the implant itself leaking out during the procedure.
If you have any post-operative problems, you should talk to your physician about the possibility of using a blood thinner to treat the problem. Post-op bleeding may also be an indication of blood clots that are in the body.
If you experience pain in the breasts after your operation, the best thing to do is to seek medical attention right away so that you can get an examination. If the implants do not heal properly after the procedure, your physician may recommend the use of a saline-filled saline implant.
If this does not work properly or is damaged, another type of breast augmentation may be performed. Another method for healing your implants would be the breast implants being replaced by surgery, known as mastopexy.
Implantation symptoms are very common, so be sure to discuss them with your physician. If you experience any of these signs, it is best to visit your doctor as soon as possible for proper care. You will be glad you did.
One of the most common symptoms is a painful feeling in the upper chest
If you notice any swelling, redness or pain, it is better to get your doctor’s advice before continuing with surgery. You may also feel tenderness and warmth around the breasts. The pain may be aggravated when wearing the compression garment, or when being moved in the hospital.
Pain in the chest can be relieved by taking an ibuprofen or aspirin. It may also be helped by increasing the amount of exercise that you do. Some women find that having a massage of their breasts helps.
After the surgery, your breasts may feel sore. This may be caused by swelling and infection or by your body, not healing properly. To avoid further discomfort, be sure to follow the doctor’s orders for rest and recovery time.
If you notice any of these signs, your doctor may order a test known as an imaging examination. You should contact your surgeon immediately and ask him to provide you with instructions. The ultrasound scan may reveal problems with the placement or with the implant itself.
