Heart attack, also called coronary artery disease (CAD) is the blockage or narrowing of the coronary arteries. Coronary artery disease is the number one cause of heart attacks in people forty and over. Heart attacks occur when fatty substances accumulate in the artery walls, restricting blood flow to the heart.

You should also consider the fact that if someone in your immediate family suffers from high blood pressure, claudication, high cholesterol levels, or high triglycerides then there is a greater risk of you having high blood pressure or claudication as well.
